Welcome to Address Box. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our package forwarding and international shipping services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you may not access or use our services. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting.
2. Service Description
2.1 Package Forwarding Services
Address Box provides the following services:
- Indian Address Provision: We provide you with a unique Indian shipping address for receiving packages
- Package Reception: We receive packages on your behalf at our secure facility
- Package Consolidation: We combine multiple packages to reduce shipping costs
- International Shipping: We forward packages to your international address
- Package Tracking: We provide tracking information throughout the process
- Customer Support: We offer assistance via WhatsApp, email, and phone
2.2 Customer Identification
Each customer is assigned a unique customer code based on their country (e.g., US10001, IN10001, GB10001) for identification and service management purposes.
3. Account Registration and Eligibility
3.1 Eligibility Requirements
- You must be at least 18 years old to use our services
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration
- You must have a valid email address and phone number
- You must comply with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction
- You must not be located in a country subject to international sanctions
3.2 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
3.3 Identity Verification
We may require identity verification documents to comply with legal requirements and prevent fraud. Failure to provide requested verification may result in service suspension.
4. Service Terms and Conditions
4.1 Package Acceptance
We will accept packages on your behalf subject to the following conditions:
- Packages must be addressed to your assigned Address Box address
- Packages must not contain prohibited or restricted items
- Package value must be accurately declared
- Packages must comply with international shipping regulations
4.1A Permitted Use (Transit Hub; No Warehousing)
Address Box operates as a package forwarding and consolidation transit hub to support genuine shopping and delivery needs. Our facility is not a storage center, long-term warehouse, or dumping ground for goods.
- Genuine Shopping Only: All items received must relate to legitimate shopping transactions or shipments intended for forwarding to your final delivery address.
- No Stockpiling: Bulk storage, extended warehousing, or using the facility for inventory holding or fulfillment operations is prohibited.
- Discretion to Decline: Receipt and acceptance of any package is at the sole discretion of Address Box. We may decline, return, or arrange disposal of shipments that are inconsistent with the intended use of our services.
- Prompt Forwarding: Items are expected to be consolidated (if requested) and dispatched within reasonable timeframes consistent with a transit hub.
4.2 Storage Terms
- Free Storage: 20 days from receipt date for all customers
- Extended Storage: ₹10 per day per package after free period (Pay-as-you-go)
- Subscription Benefits: Unlimited free storage for subscription customers
- Abandoned Packages: Packages not claimed within 90 days may be disposed of
4.3 Consolidation Services
Package consolidation is subject to our professional judgment regarding safety, customs compliance, and shipping efficiency. We reserve the right to refuse consolidation if deemed inappropriate.
5. Prohibited and Restricted Items
5.1 Absolutely Prohibited Items
- Dangerous Goods: Explosives, flammable materials, toxic substances
- Illegal Items: Drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods
- Restricted Substances: Alcohol, tobacco, prescription medications
- Perishable Items: Food, plants, live animals
- Valuable Items: Cash, precious metals, jewelry (without prior arrangement)
- Hazardous Materials: Batteries, chemicals, aerosols
- Adult Content: Pornographic or obscene materials
5.2 Country-Specific Restrictions
Additional restrictions may apply based on destination country regulations. Customers are responsible for understanding and complying with their local import laws.
5.3 Inspection Rights
We reserve the right to inspect any package for security, customs, and legal compliance purposes. Packages containing prohibited items will be disposed of at customer expense.
6. Fees and Payment Terms
6.1 Service Fees
Our primary charges include:
- One-Time Address Assignment
- Subscription Fees (monthly or annual, depending on plan)
- Receiving Fees (per parcel)
- Consolidation Fees (based on weight/volume)
All shipping is charged at actual courier rates with no markup. Complete details of fees are available on the Pricing page, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference and may be updated from time to time without prior notice.
6.2 Shipping Costs
International shipping costs are billed at actual courier rates with zero markup. Shipping costs vary based on weight, dimensions, destination, and shipping method selected.
6.3 Payment Terms
- All fees are payable in Indian Rupees (₹)
- Payment is due before service provision
- We accept major credit cards and digital payment methods
- Subscription fees are billed monthly or annually in advance
- No refunds for services already provided
7. Liability and Insurance
7.1 Limitation of Liability
Our liability for loss or damage to packages is limited to the declared value of the package, with a maximum liability of ₹50,000 per package unless additional insurance is purchased.
7.2 Insurance Options
- Basic Coverage: Included up to ₹5,000 per package
- Extended Coverage: Available for high-value items (additional fee applies)
- Full Replacement: Available for specific item categories
7.3 Exclusions
We are not liable for:
- Delays caused by customs, weather, or force majeure events
- Damage due to inadequate packaging by the original sender
- Loss or damage to prohibited or undeclared items
- Consequential or indirect damages
- Items with insufficient or incorrect documentation
8. Customer Responsibilities
8.1 Accurate Information
- Provide accurate package descriptions and values
- Ensure shipping addresses are complete and correct
- Update account information when changes occur
- Respond promptly to our communications
8.2 Compliance
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
- Ensure items are legal in both origin and destination countries
- Provide required customs documentation
- Pay all applicable duties and taxes
8.3 Communication
Customers must maintain active communication channels (email, phone) and respond to our inquiries within 7 days to avoid service delays.
9. Service Modifications and Termination
9.1 Service Changes
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services with 30 days' notice to customers. Price changes will be communicated 60 days in advance.
9.2 Account Termination
We may terminate accounts for:
- Violation of these Terms of Service
- Shipping prohibited items
- Non-payment of fees
- Fraudulent activity
- Abusive behavior toward staff
9.3 Customer Termination
Customers may terminate their account at any time by providing 7 days' written notice. All outstanding fees must be paid, and packages must be shipped or disposed of before account closure.
10. Intellectual Property
10.1 Our Rights
All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by Address Box and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
10.2 Customer Content
By using our services, you grant us a limited license to handle, photograph, and process your packages as necessary to provide our services.
11. Dispute Resolution
11.1 Complaint Process
- Initial Contact: Contact our customer service team via WhatsApp or email
- Formal Complaint: Submit written complaint within 30 days of incident
- Investigation: We will investigate and respond within 15 business days
- Resolution: We will work toward a mutually acceptable solution
11.2 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.
11.3 Arbitration
For disputes exceeding ₹1,00,000, parties may agree to binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 2015.
12. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters, pandemics, or acts of God
- Government actions, regulations, or sanctions
- Labor strikes or transportation disruptions
- Customs delays or international trade restrictions
- Technical failures or cyber attacks
- Supplier or courier partner failures
13. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
14. Miscellaneous Provisions
14.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Address Box regarding our services.
14.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
14.3 Assignment
You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations to any affiliate or successor entity.
14.4 Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
